Kuala Lumpur Illustration Fair (KLIF) is an annual gathering of Illustrators, old or new, it's all about the belief of providing expansive opportunities for new, and iconic talent, which started in 2023. This second edition of the fair brought together artists and illustrators from across Southeast Asia and beyond, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, and China.
Illustration is more than just images on a page, it's a visual communication language that turns an image into a thousand words and communicates across cultures, bringing artistic stories to the commercial world.
Rtist Creative Platform is proud to be the media partner for KLIF for the second year running, continuing our partnership for the years coming, integrating our artistic & creative communities together.
The journey through the realm of Illustration started off with featured showcases from Akinori x Enya at the 3rd Floor, Jahan Loh, Stephen Lau, Art:Tech, Nestfern and Ardneks at the 4th floor, which they showcased their work throughout the 3 days of the event and similarly at 5th floor, the work of Yunnan Arts University, Myth Art Exhibition by Art Page, UCSI University, Sunway University and Zeen Chin were shown as the featured showcases.
KL illustration fair also hosted a two day conference on the 4th and 5th of May, which featured industry leaders of Southeast Asia like Nestfern (Malaysia), Ardneks (Indonesia), Jahan Loh (Singapore) and more. On the 5th of May, the conference featured leading illustrators from China's Yunnan Arts Univeristy, Malaysia's own, Two People Studio and more.
It was an art explosion!
A dazzling array of styles and techniques filled the event, with attendees getting up close and personal with the artists themselves. Talks and panels offered artistic insights, while one-of-a-kind pieces were up for grabs.
Attendees not only got up close and personal with the artists themselves, but also participated in interactive workshops and insightful talks, gaining valuable artistic insights.
Messyvoices by Melinda also had a booth in the 4th floor throughout the 3 days.
Malu Monsters (Jelly Min) and Senpao (Huda) , the illustrator duo who created awareness on consent through their artwork
Fun fact: This booth actually had an actual barista serving up coffee as part of their theme.
Throughout the three days, we've met some of our illustrators from our pool of talents who were part of the 140 illustrators in the fair, continuing our partnership with them as a creative platform provider. We met some new illustrators too in the process, informing them about Rtist Platform and how they can leverage the features of the platform to find jobs around Malaysia (some say Internationally too).
We also met our clients, who have been using Rtist.co to search for creative talents.
The event beautifully showcased the power of creativity to unite and inspire. We're excited to keep championing the creative community and collaborating on future events with KLIF!
Big shoutout to everyone who made the Kuala Lumpur Illustration Fair 2024 amazing! Stay tuned for more creative fuel from Rtist.co, and never stop creating!
