When spotting a breaking-news worthy item, send it to users by clicking the "Push" button on the ERT. Always take into consideration the local time in the target market. Inform the "Breaking News 2021" chatroom of what was pushed.
Top News:
-Make sure the most relevant stories are displayed in the API calls at the moment you are checking it. If not, find the missing stories in the ERT and manually force / boost it. Changes made to Top News will reflect once the Algo Recommendation List refreshes.
-Remove any duplications you spot. Similar stories/topics written from different angles/perspectives should not be considered duplications. Those stories can remain part of Top News, but not at the expense of other relevant/important news.
-Check the API call and make sure all the content extracted from the publishers defined as Top News providers is fresh; if not, open a case to Support for remapping Hero.
-If one or more API call lists are blank, check if it is due to a temporary change in the involved publisher’s front page layout. If so, do not take any action and wait until the front page layout goes back to normal.
-If the front page layout change is permanent, open a case to Support asking to remap the publisher for Top News. If there has not been any changes on the front page layout but the list is blank, open a case to Support asking for Hero to be remapped.
-Ask for the creation of new topics by opening a ticket in Jira to TNEWS.
