GMBB, KL: Saturday (18 January 2025): The students from the Faculty of Creative Arts of New Era University College hosted their final-year project exhibition in GMBB, KL. This batch consist of 48 students from 3 courses, namely, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Visual Communication, Diploma in Graphic Design and Diploma in Digital Media Design.
Kicking off the Showcase: The Opening Ceremony
Prof. Mok Soon Chong Ph.D. the Vice Chancellor and CEO of New Era University College opened up the Showcase ceremony, with a congratulatory speech to the graduating students, on their artistic achievements and some very good industrial advice, as the students will be entering the industry right after this showcase.
Token of Appreciation to Sponsors & Partners
Next, token of appreciations were given to partners and sponsors who have contributed greatly towards the showcase. Be it by providing monetary support, venue, media and printing, which were recognised by the students as part of their showcase's success.
Students Works Throughout The Showcase
1) Mak Hui Lin - "Fading Voices"
Hui Lin's project features designs based on the Metal music genre. Fading Voices incorporates designs from heavy metal bands, such as, Bullet for My Valentine. The designs featured in this showcase, is mainly band merchandise and album designs.
2) Chong Wai Loon - "Blessed or Talented"
Wai Loon's project features an anime story that tells the tale of an anime character trying to make their mark in the anime scene. It tells the story by breaking the fourth wall. Some of his works include, comic strips, posters and merchandise of the character.
3) Foo Xue Li - "Overconsumption"
Xue Li's project greets us with the issue of overconsumption, using the Maslow's Hierachy of Needs as the main research. The overall design is intended to be messy, showing that sometimes, people buy more than they actually need, which leads to overconsumption. A major imbalance in our daily lives.
4) Tang Wan Qi - "MBTI Gelato"
Wan Qi's project is quite a unique one, whereby, it's gelato that suits the MBTI personality of people. While designs are based on the MBTI personalities, Wan Qi also offers the gelato directly to viewers of this showcase. Visitors can come by and test their MBTI and receive a MBTI Gelato!
These are some of the works of the graduating students. There are much more super creative designs on show throughout the showcase, in fact, there's 48 of them for you to enjoy.

Location: 5th Floor, GMBB, KL
SPECIAL: Assessment by Creative Industry Leaders
Additionally, Rtist was invited to be one of the Industrial Expert Assessors for each of these students' works as part of their final-year project, which will be crucial to their final marks for the subject.
Chloe Chua, Rtist Co-Founder, was selected as one of the Assessor by the University College, as she has vast industrial experience as a graphic designer previously and currently as a Creative Platform Co-Founder.
The students are assessed based on their presentation skills, art sense and their design's relavance to the industry they're going into.
This opportunity to provide industrial guidance to the students, providing a platform for the students to create digital portfolios and find jobs is crucial for these graduating students, as they enter the working world right after this showcase.
