TROPICANA GARDENS MALL: Saturday (14th December 2024), the creative students of INTI International University & Colleges hosted their final-year project showcase titled, "Not So Typical Grad Show". Not So Typical Grad Show, holds a significant underlying statement that represents the student's projects by the means of being different from the norm.

Not So Typical Grad Show also hosted 127 graduating students from 8 design courses, covering both Diploma and Degree graduates.

The theme of the graduation show, showcases the students' ability to not be bound by traditional rules, and to break traditional norms. As the future of the creative industry, it's important to always keep an open mind on societal developments, and sometimes, sway from it.

To Kick-Off The Showcase, It Was Directly To Awards & Appreciation Ceremony, Isn't That Untypical?

Coinciding with the theme of being "Not So Typical", the showcase was opened  on the 2nd day of the event, directly with an awards & appreciation ceremony to the lecturers, performing students, partners and sponsors. It was truly, out of the ordinary.

Following the awards & appreciation ceremony, the lecturers shared a congratulatory moment with their students. This was a showcase that emphasizes on students spending time to network with industry partners on potential opportunities, who were in attendance as well.

Putting Concepts And Processes Into Reality

Upon conclusion of the awards & appreciation ceremony, we were invited to view all the student's works displayed in the showcase. We're honored to see creative works from various design backgrounds within 1 showcase. Namely, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Multimedia and more.

Let's go through some of the works the students presented:

1) Malaysian Monopoly

This artwork was inspired by the popular board game, Monopoly. Malaysian Monopoly adds the Malaysian culture & locations into the board game, not to mention, even the currency was in Ringgit.

2) Graffiti with Meaning

Most graffiti art we see in public, don't mean anything, or is always associated with vandals and rebels. This artwork conveys the message that graffiti is really an art form, and not what we perceive.

3) Virtual Reality Showcase

Imagine, a showcase, within a showcase. That's what this student did. We pretty much experienced viewing an art exhibition in virtual reality mode.

4) End of Stripes

The Malayan Tiger is now an endangered species, with only a few hundred left in the world. This student, with his love for Tigers, created an animation video for a Malayan Tiger PSA Video.

That's all the works we have to feature for now.
